2019 PGA Junior Golf Sports Camp

 (new 2019)

7 – 11 Years Old

Level 1 / 2 – Beginner to Intermediate

This PGA junior program is new and unlike any other at RedTail because it spans over just three consecutive days. Also, it encompasses a variety of sports activities, which all have a unique connection to the game of golf. Juniors will learn about golf etiquette and rules, fundamentals, putting and the full swing. Also, Soccer, Frisbee, Kwik Golf and indoor activities will be enjoyed.

One Private Lesson with Curt Peterson is included in this program (to be scheduled separate from the program over a two week period following the camp).

Each participant will receive a RedTail Golf Club Range Membership with enrollment in this camp ($100 value). This membership provides a 50% discount on regularly priced range ball buckets in the golf shop during the 2019 Season.

Golf Clubs: Please have your junior bring his/her clubs/bag to each class day. If your junior does not have clubs, we will provide them for each class.
Food: Juniors are encouraged to bring a snack and drink to each class day for their enjoyment at the class “Break”.
Weather: Classes will meet each day rain or shine. If weather becomes inclement (rain, excessive wind or heat), either before or during class, we will shift the class inside the clubhouse for indoor activities.

PGA Junior Golf Clinics

Ages 5 – 14 Years old

LEVEL 1 Program – Beginners/Refresher

Golf Clubs: If your junior does not have clubs, we will provide them for each class.

5 – 6 Years Old

Introducing the game of golf is our mission. Your junior will learn about golf equipment, basic etiquette, safety, rules, putting, chipping and the full swing (Grip, Aim, Posture, Backswing & Downswing). Classes meet in the clubhouse and take place on the Practice Putting Green and Range.

7 – 9 Years Old

Both new and experienced juniors will learn the basics of the game in this class. Topics covered are: equipment, etiquette, safety, rules, putting, chipping and the full swing (Grip, Aim, Posture & Stance, Backswing & Downswing). Classes meet in the clubhouse and take place on the Practice Green and Range.

10 – 14 Years Old

The focus of this clinic is to expand the knowledge and understanding of the game of golf for each junior golfer. Topics covered will be golf equipment, etiquette, safety, basic rules, short game (chipping, pitching and putting), and the full swing.

PGA Academy

Ages 8 – 11 Years old

LEVEL 2 Program: Refresher/Intermediate

Dates: June 10, 17, 24, SKIP July 1, July 8, 15, 22, 29 & Aug. 5, 8/12 Rain date
Day/Times: Mondays Only / 1:00 – 2:30 PM
Program Fees: Lakewood Resident: $189 / Non-Resident: $199

The PGA Academy teaches juniors the fundamentals, swing mechanics and mental development required to practice and play on the golf course. Homework, range practice, and on-course assignments will be a required part of the program.

Each Junior will receive the following 8 Lessons:

  1. (5) Group Classes on the Practice Range or Green
  2. (2) On-Course Group Classes
  3. (1) Private Lesson

Please Note: Group class will not meet on July 1st (unless required as a rain date makeup).

Parents will schedule the one private lesson with Curt between June 25 – July 14.

All group classes are held on Mondays at the Practice Range, Putting Green, and Golf Course at RedTail.

The PGA Academy focuses on the overall development of each junior’s game. Juniors will be evaluated on the following topics: Safety, Golf History, Rules of Golf, Etiquette, Golf Terminology, Golf Values, Scoring, Pace of Play, Pre-Swing Fundamentals, Putting, Chipping and the Full Swing. One Private Lesson is included which provides a video swing analysis of the junior’s swing.

Each participant will receive a RedTail Golf Club Range Membership with enrollment in this academy ($100 value). This membership provides a 50% discount on regularly riced range ball buckets in the golf shop during the 2019 Season.

Juniors taking a strong interest in the PGA Academy will prepare themselves for the next

program level: Prep Academy.

2019 Prep Academy

Ages 9 – 15 Years Old

LEVEL 3 Program: Intermediate/Advanced

Dates: June 10, 17, 24, SKIP July 1, July 8, 15, 22, 29 & Aug. 5, 8/12 Rain date
Day/Times: Mondays Only / 3:30 – 5:00 PM or 5:30 – 7 PM
Program Fees: Lakewood Resident: $289 / Non-Resident: $299

The Prep Academy is the next step of the RedTail Jr. Program. It is designed for junior golfers who may or are interested in playing regularly and/or competitive golf. Whether it is summer tournaments, high school golf or simply just playing for fun, the Prep Academy will sharpen every aspect of your junior’s game.

Each junior will receive the following 8 Lessons:

  1. (2) Group Lesson – covers fundamentals, swing movements and proper range practice and games. (June 10 & 17)
  2. (3) On-Course Group Lessons – focusing on rules of golf, course strategy, mental tenacity and performance, and formats. (July 8, 22 & August 5)
  3. (3) Private Lessons – geared towards individual game improvement and correct swing movement. Private Lesson Weeks: (June 24, July 15 & 29)

(Group class will NOT meet the dates above, unless required as a rain make-up date.

Parents/Students will be required to schedule the private lessons with Curt the prior week

ONLINE through Curt’s Online Lesson Reservation System.)

2019 PGA Elite Junior

10 – 17 Years old

LEVEL 4 Program: Advanced

“Next step after the Prep Academy” – Private Lessons Only

Lesson Membership Fee: Lakewood Residents: $95 / Non-Residents: $100

Juniors who are committed to competitive golf (junior tournaments, high school golf or college golf), prefer one-on-one instruction, and are focused on being an “Elite Performer” will thrive in this program.

Each Elite Junior receives the following with their membership fee:

  • RedTail Range Membership (50% off normal range bucket rates)
  • (1) – Private Lessons (April or May)
  • (1) – Short Game Session (April or May)

2019 Women’s Clinic

This clinic is designed for the novice or beginner female golfer interested in learning the game in a stress-free environment. Learn the course guidelines (golf shop, practice range and green, tee boxes, golf carts and reserving a tee time), understanding of equipment, basic rules and etiquette, fundamentals, swing movement and short game.

This program provides the foundation required to graduate to the Women’s Academy.

2019 Women’s Academy

18+ Years Old

The Women’s Academy incorporates the three lesson types: Group, On-Course and Private. Group instruction will cover fundamentals, swing movement, and short game. Learn how to correctly practice on the range and/or putting green. On-Course experience provides comfortability and the understanding of scoring. Private instruction focuses on individual swing movements and a roadmap to game improvement.

Each student will receive the following 7 Lessons:

  • (3) Group Classes on the Practice Range or Green
